I got the honor of completing a Internship role for a Seattle Climate Action Non Profit called Climate Action Families over the summer of 2024. This experience is helping me gain not only design skills but also a deeper understanding of sustainable practices and community engagement, so that I can combine my passions for design and sustainability. By collaborating on projects that address climate change, I’m developing the ability to create impactful, environmentally-conscious solutions while learning how to effectively communicate and implement these ideas within diverse communities.
I absolutely loved working for a organization that was helping towards a cause I am so passionate for and so I continue to work with Climate Action Families past my internship period to help provide additional graphic design help as they need it.

Climate Action Families has a strong foundation on how they educate youth being the C.R.E.A.T.I.V.E system. The product of the lessons learned from years of intergenerational climate justice work. These pillars help prepare us for the challenges of a changing climate while rapidly creating a network of youth and families pushing for transformational change. It helps us answer “Who do we want to be” as we engage in the exciting and emotionally demanding work of climate justice. I was lucky enough to help them design a graphic to represent this system. We began discussing making similar graphics for each individual system; such as the theories of change under the “Action” category of the CREATIVE model seen here with similar themes.
We also began the process of a Patch system; similar to the Girl Scout/ Boy Scout patches that kids within the program could earn based on there knowledge of each area of the CREATIVE model, theories of change, etc.
The Theory of Change cards are a on going project that I continue to help Climate Action Families bring to life. The 200+ card project is used during Climate Action Families Climate Justice Intro training and involves discussing 6 theories of change; Personal Transformation, Solutions Deployment, Legal and Policy Work, Community Organizing, Cultural Influence, and Healing People and the Planet.
